Or if i can get someone in the publishing industry to look at my stories and possibly get it published if it they want to publish it! i just want to try. Please help! Give me publishing industries that take stories from unknown people and actually read them. e-mails of publishers Anything that can help!! I know i am over my head but i need to try and if you could help that would be awesome!! Thanks

I'm not sure how to exactly get into the publishing trade, etc. BUT, you can google different publishing companies around you or outside where you live and send your work off through the mail. Maybe send an email or two to the places and companies that you find. I, too, would LOVE to get my short stories and poems published. In the next couple years, I am going to be doing the same thing that you are doing now. LOL, good for you!

well if you want to look up the best (true) publishers, get the writer's market 09 or the children's writer's market '09. You can find it in any book store like borders or barns and nobel. It will have a list of publishers/editors and many more... throughout the US and world... i want to become a young auntor too :D but anyways good luck and i hope you get your book published

oh and don't post your story on the internet... because internet publishers are usually fake and people will steal your work... its better to get an actual publisher if you want to make money :D
ps the book is kinda expensive... like $30 but im not sure but mabye they have it at the library?

it's a bit of minefeild to be honest. what you need to do is finish the book. and edit until it is perfect.

after that you need to get a copy of the writers hand book by barry turner - it lists all the agents and publishers in the uk, us and ireland.

along with the contact details you will find whether they accept unsolicited ms or not, and what sort of material they are looking for.

then you send them a query, some ask for just a query letter, others ask of a query plus a synopsis, some want the first three chapters.

make sure to follow the guidelines to the word because a lot of agents and publishers won't even look at your work if it isn't submitted the right way.

get a copy of 'from pitch to publication' by carole blake. she runs a literary agency and rreally knows what she is talking about. it's the best book on publishing i've read, and it really lays it out and makes it simple.

sometimes they will just reject the work, sometimes they will ask to read more or it. sometimes they will pass on that too.,

it can take years and hundreds of rejections before you get published. it doesn't mean you can't write, it just means that you haven't found the right place for your book yet.

don't loose heart.

but the main thing is to finsih first
