If you are any good, there are plenty of jobs, and most lawyers, while they may not all become wildly wealthy, do very well. As for compromising your integrity, you need to find an area of the law that works for you. There are some areas, such as criminal law and family law, which sometimes bother those who are bound to represent their clients diligently, regardless of how their clients are behaving. On the other hand, there are areas of the law in which you might be doing things like reviewing contracts or policies, and it would be hard to challenge your integrity in that way.
