I want the samsung intercept but i don't use the internet on my phone?

Is it possible to have the phone and not have to pay for the internet. i am on sprint. i really want to have the phone i just dont use internet and i know that the phone is mostly used for internet but i like the fact that it isnt bulky and it has a keyboard and touch screen. So if i bought it on amazon and just called to activate it would i still have to pay for the internet?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP i reallly need advice and a new phone!
