I've heard of people doing this before so I thought I would give it a try (it's a high miler, not worth a R134a recharge). I evacuated the system under 10psi of vaccuum for 30 minutes, added pag oil and recharged with required amount of propane. It blows out as cold as ice.
I was just wondering if anyone else has done this and can tell me if they had good luck running propane or any tips on using it. Some say it's dangerous, but the flash point is much higher than gasoline and it's in a pressurized, sealed system with only 2.6 pounds of propane so I'm not afraid of using it for saftey reasons, I would just like to hear others experiences with it.
