I feel the same about my suboxone sometimes, where I all of a sudden resent having to take something every day and just decide to go cold turkey randomly and impatiently. That's very addictive thinking, to just want to change something overnight without having to suffer any consequences. Not gonna happen. Previous poster is right - 6 months straight of using that much OC would cause really bad withdrawals, peaking around 3-5 days and getting much better after about a week. You can have a short, intense withdrawal, or you can stretch out the process over an extended period, with probably some withdrawals as you lower the dosages and especially when you jump off, but not nearly as bad as cold turkey. But you can't just quit and expect not to have withdrawals. Remeraber, the longer you're on the pills, the worse the withdrawals will be, so I'd make my decision now and start going for it!
I don't know what to tell you about the benzodiazepines except that I jumped off 1 mg of xanax a day and had grand mal seizures three days later. Coming off benzos and opiates by themselves is awful, together just sounRAB like too much to take on and too much for us here on the boarRAB to help you with. Have you thought about/are you able to go to a medical detox for a little while to help you with this? If you were just tapering off opioiRAB that's one thing, but both of these together is potentially dangerous. I don't want to tell you to just stay on the xanax for the whole time you're tapering off OCs because then the detox from THAT will be that much worse. I really think you should talk to a doctor and think about checking into a detox for a few days.
