my engine sound have? i use a 2002 toyota corolla. i recently change my engine oil to total quartz 7000 10w40. my engine sound have change and i dont know why. it is noisy now than it was before.i live in a hot climate-25-33 degrees celsius. what engine oil will be good for my car. the manuel says sae 5w30."
 
I had a 2003 toyota corolla up till a year or so ago. I always used valvoline 5w30, never had any issues with it. I usually do what the manufacturer suggests, and don't stray too far from that.
 
i live in the west where it stays hot most of the time i run 10w40 all year long
