I twisted my ankle in gym today, and I think it may be sprained. How do I know if it is

and how can I heal it? After I twisted it in gym I had to go to track practice. It only hurt when I walked and stood still and the pain went straight down my foot. It felt fine a practice until I went off the blocks. When I finished practice it felt terrible. Right now I'm icing it and it is swollen. What can I do to heal it I have a meet tomorrow although I'm sure I won't b able to run.
