I took a job too demanding for me after only two days, can I go back on jobseekers?

Hello

So a bit of back story, I am 22 and have working in an office for 5 years doing general admin work etc. Due to the company I worked for going bankrupt I got made unemployed four weeks ago. I signed on to job seekers, not to sit on my rear and enjoy the time off, but I wanted there help/advice and money for bus fares to interviews etc.

I have quite a good CV and in all honesty even with the current crisis in the UK I expected to find a job quite fast. After 4 weeks I was getting down and a bit depressed because I was having no luck but then I noticed a job handing out leaflets door to door which I was lucky enough to get a job doing. It is as far as possible from any job I would ever think about taking but I was desperate and had the attitude that anything is better than nothing.

I have managed two days at the job so far and I cant physically do it! Please don't get me wrong this isn't just a moan about a bit of a hard days work for a change for a soft office boy. The job involves walking for 9 hours per day with a backpack full of leaflets usually in the rain. By the end of my first day I counted 14 blisters in total and could hardly move my back, I had a bath etc and did the best I could to recover for my second day. By the end of that day I had to put my feet (still in socks) in the shower to wet the dry blood to get them off my feet. I had also developed a blister under my second toe in which grew that big its actually pushed the toe nail right off now.

I couldn't face day three.

I know job seekers refuse to pay anyone for (I think 16 weeks) for walking out of a job, and I can understand the reasons why, but I took this job purely out of desperation knowing deep down I couldn't do it.

Thank you for your future advice, and please don't judge me as just some slacker. I have worked since I was 16 and its all I enjoy.

Some useful bits of information that could make a difference;

My job seekers agreement stated I was looking for Retail, Admin or Photography work (an old job, don't ask) so I took something not on my agreement.
My agreement also stated I was willing to travel for up to an hour and this job I took was 1 hour 25 minutes each way.
And of course I was only there two days, not sure if that makes a difference too.

Kind regards
Tom
