I threw a rod in my engine, I am wondering about how much my car is worth now--2001

ford focus.? Yesterday I threw a rod in my cars engine, engine is shot. So I'm wondering how much my car is now worth. The body is in good shape, interior is excellent, new tires. It has a 12 CD player in it. I know before the engine blew it was probably worth about 3000.00. Not sure if I should try and trade it in, or just part it out.

Part it out. They will put the screws to you if you try to trade it in.

they will tear you apart at a dealership. Don't waste your time. part it out, throw it on ebay, throw it on craigslist, post it on forums, put it out everywhere and someone will buy it

you will get 300-500 from a salvage yard. You could part it out on craigslist or ebay and get a lot more for it.
