My GF of almost 3 months has had a friend John that she has ALWAYS claimed to be platonic and nothing more. John has even had a girlfriend and still supposedly does, so I've pretty much just accepted John to be a platonic friend and nothing more. But my GF says that she and John are always "arguing" because they are competitive and stress each other out. Not only do they argue but then become "friends" again, but she also gave him a pet name, and they hang out routinely. My GF hung out with him tonight, and she didn't text me at all (which she normally is NEVER flaky on texts). Now she calls me, says he came over and they "healed over" their argument, and they just "hung out" at her place.
Honestly, I think she is cheating on me. But she has always said they are not anything but platonic friends, and I've seen his Facebook and he talks about his own girlfriend. So it's like I don't know what to think and I don't want to piss my GF off by telling her I think she is cheating. How do I address this issue without losing my GF in case she is being honest?
She has given me a reason: he has a petname, she just "hung out" at her place and doesn't want to say what that involved, his girlfriend is out of town for a week, she all of a sudden is telling me how she is sad she will miss seeing her brother because she is going to be seeing me this weekend. It's like she is just hiding something and doesn't want to say it.
