We just put this damsel in he is a blue damsel in a 48 gallon tank with 3 other fish yesterday one died then today one dies and this one seems to not be doing so well we have just finished the nitrate cycle and the other fish have been there for three days and are happier then ever but the two we put in yesterday are either dead or is dying what should I do he seems to be panting and is secluding himself from the others help plz my small heart can't take another death plz!!!!!!!

check the temperature of the water and how clean it is. Usually people suggest distilled water or we had a heater in the tank incase it got too cold. Good luck with that, cause once fish get sick they are on their way out. They dont recover as well as humans.

You should check the ammonia levels, and the PH, they can die if it is off balance, you should also reserch fish illnesses, I get tablets that cure more than one thing, like fungus, fin rot, clampted fins, dropsy, and others, hope this helps, and I hope your fish will be OK

take it to a vet.
google sick fish
buy more fish
change the water.
seperate the fish

maybe all your old fish are used to the water type in your tank and the new ones need a different Ph of water or something :s
i know what its like to feel emotionally attached to a fish, i cried so much when my clown loach died, i missed 2 days of school :'(
lmaoo i seem like such a saddo

Put him in a hospital tank and give him some medicine. Get Maracyn 1 & Maracyn 2, you can get them at a petstore. Give him the full dose of treatment according to the size of the tank. I believe one tablet treats 5 gallons? So you'll be dropping two caplets (or powder) in his tank. This fights against a variety of common fish disease. Good luck!

sorry to hear that i just answered cuz this sounds like the Malibu rum commercialXD my fish recently died:(

u should give ur tank some anti shock droplets...are u sure ur water is balanced?get a balance test to make sure the water is ok.. what about ur ph level?? i think u got bad fish...talk to a pet store asap ..the death of the others could have caused something in the water taht ur good fish could get.....

one of the fish probably had ick totally clean the tank before adding any new fish
