I think Ive decided on the Imac!?anyone help?

ok, so i think im going witht he Apple imac over the hp touch smart. now i am not good with computer stuff and i dont want them to sell me stuff i dont need just cuz im a girl. So, if i get this computer and i have like 4 pc games i want to play, how much is it gonna cost to install windows or whatever i need to? and what is the only things that i will need? i dont want to get ripped off. thanks!
 
Okay, if you're planning on playing games STAY AWAY FROM MAC!! Mac can't play a game to save it's life. Also, it tends to have the cooling fan overheat and blow out if Windows is Installed.
Best chance is to install something light, Windows XP pro from
warez-bb.org
projectw.org
etc.
download a windows XP CD and you're good to go. =D
 
It depends on why your are getting your iMac. You'll want a copy of Windows and that is at least $100.

As for Mac software you might like iLife if it isn't there already and Adobe Elements would be very handy. For office utilities you can go with Open Office which is free.
 
You'll probably want to buy the Mac from an Apple re-seller (I suggest MacMall.com). This way, you can buy the Windows OS at the same time, and for an extra price, have them pre-install it, so you don't have to get confused (just be very specific on what you want when you order). All in all, you're looking at spending a good $1500
