I think I'm skippping the N95......

but you can wait can you? I see the N95 as "form succesor" to the n80.
what do you if they do if they put it n93 form factor and add even more fetaures......
 
Me, Im with Blue. Im skipping N95. I mean, Im not really into collecting phones and only upgrade it when totally needed. As of now, N93 really satisfies me greatly.

Next year, Ill just get a PS3.
 
I always preffered screen quality (higher pixels) over size. E61 screen is too big for being a QVGA. Compare it to something like N80 and E61 screen kind of looks ugly. Now, add a VGA to E61 and I would be one of the first to get it.
 
Im getting mine this week.. hopefully its up to my expectations. This is the first phone im spending real $$ on so i hope i enjoy it and tend to keep it as long as i can. I miss nokia, i switched back from p910 to my 6620.

anything i should expect or do before powering up this baby?
 
I personally hate having to use that stupid port to be able to listen to music: they always start getting loose after a time and your cable ends up being much longer than normal due to the fact that you have the adaptor and then standard headphones on top of that. I think it's nice to have that option, especially seeing how this phone is basically future-proof.

You just plug in your headphones and go.

I do see your point though...if you were to get a call while listening to music with the 3.5mm jack, you would have to take your phone out and talk on it like normal. I just think the 3.5 jack is just another way the device can be used as a "multi-media computer" and not just a phone...considering the hardware this thing is packing, you could have it forever simply as an extra convergence (sp) device -
 
you're getting an N95 this week? balderdash. but if some how god smiles upon and u get one, please post pics and a review. oh and i'll buy it from you. haha.
 
Hi i'm kind of new here, the reason i signed up was because i need a phone with high camera and video performance and i saw the N95, well you get the picture. Does it have a release date yet and what is the price in US dollars?
 
I'm going to have to skip it, too. I think at this point in the game, seeing as how I average 200-250mb/month, with spurts like last month at 365mb, it's just silly for me to not have a 3G phone, or at least spend more money on a non-3g. Also, I'm just not infatuated with the looks, not like i was with the N80. I don't like this new button config with all the menu and extra keys all jumbled together, either. The n80 and N73 have the good layout, IMO.

I'm pretty well satisfied with my N73. I'll probably hang on to it till the 2nd US 3G S60 shows its face.
 
I love the features of the N93, but the form factor appears so impractical. So, the N95 will most likely be the candidate that will bring me back into the phonephile world. Haha. After having a K750i that was a piece (terrible build quality) and then getting thrown around by Helio (loved the 3G though) I settled down for a Samsung Trace.

The N95 has sparked my interest and seems to have everything. I use T-Mobile so quadband is not necessary; the class 11 EDGE is attractive.

I can absolutely guarantee you i won't and if you read my posts i have clearly stated my reasons and my preferences. As a side note since the new firmware V20. it is so much faster not just on start up but all apps open without any delay even the Globe in Tom Tom only does 2 revolutions it is going to take something very special to get to me to change anytime soon.

From a video review of the N95 I saw that the Nokia representative said wait for the phone to connect to gprs to get the map.
So it seems it will use and NEED an active connection....
Definately will be skipping this now....

Obviously they are using the phone to drive revenues from thier GPS services company linkup. So seems also obvious that their product demonstrations will focus on that aspect and how THAT part works and why it is so "fantastically helpful" bla bla bla,

But that doesnt mean the GPS chip in the phone is incapable of working with other GPS mapping software that uses maps resident on a memory card. We dont know. If Nokia has crippled the phone in this way, it owuld be incredibly stupid of them. But we dont know - and what you saw isnt evidence of it either.

So lets get a definitive answer on that.

By the way, this soft of unanswerd question is exactly what I am talking about when I tell you all that all these "reviews" of the N95 so far are nothing but staged marketing pap. I have yet to see anybody really ask or answer hard questions about the device, regarldess of prototype or not. This sort of question is what they should be telling us.
 
True, but if it turns out that they crippledthe phone this way, many will not buy it. Would be a veryyy stupid desicion. More reason for me to skip the N95
