I think I shorted out my Wii (no sound)

I took my Wii over to my friends where it worked fine (using composite cables) all night. The next day I was at my parents showing them, with the same cables. I noticed when I was setting everything up I go to plug the composite cables in front of the TV and I go a white spark (this was after hooking the power & sensor in). When I went to play I was getting no sound despite trying the other inputs on the TV.

I bring it home that night and hook it back up to my TV which I was using the component cables with. When I plugged everything in, I still got no sound from anything so I'm guessing something shorted out when plugging into my parents TV.

Anyone else experience something like this? I registered my Wii at my.nintendo.com and got the extra 90 day cover, but I'm still well within the consoles original 90 day. Anyone know how Nintendo handles a warranty exchange since I have a few downloaded games, friends, saves and Mii's on the system?

nintendo should be able to credit you or transfer over your games

give them a call, they have the best customer service of any company i've ever dealt with

They're sending me a box to send it back in so they can repair it. I would've done the replacement option, but I would've lost my Zelda saves and anything else that can't be copied to a SD card. But you were right, I was on the phone for only 10 minutes and it was resolved.

Oh well, guess I'll dust the PS2 off.
