I think I screwed up my boyfriends car. Help?

Hey guys. My boyfriend has a 98 Audi 1.8T. He always talked about his k04 and chip and told me he wanted it to get more performance out of it. So when my boyfriend left to visit his sister earlier this week, my friend convinced me to try and surprise him by fixing it up! She asked her boyfriend how to get more performance out of this specific k04 and chip and he said that we needed to "port and polish the intake and exhaust.” She worked in her dads shop for a summer so she knows a few things about fixing cars so we looked online and found out to find out how to do it ourselves. The website said we needed an abrasive material so we used sandblasting sand and hooked it up to the intake and started the car. I had to hold the gas so it would run. My friend wanted to let the engine suck the sand through the intake so it would port it out then push it out the exhaust so it would port the exhaust manifold. I was worried it might cause problems but she figured it would be OK as long as we didn’t make boost and get it sucked in the turbo. After running the car and letting it suck in the sand we got about halfway through a 25 pound bag and the check engine light was on and the engine was buckling and kicking and sounding really weird. We stopped and hooked the car back up normal and took away the sand supply. We tried to start it again and it was really hard. Once started it couldn’t idle and kept making noises. We took it out and drove it and it started to make scrapping and knocking noises. HELP! Can anyone tell me what to do? My friend thinks we should try to flush out the sand with water but I don’t think that will work. He’s coming back on Sunday and he loves this car so much so I hope I didn’t screw it up :(
 
I am very confused why you are asking this question? Are you trying to take the piss out of someone? You obviously know a bit about engines talking about idle and valve ports.

You know full well sand would destroy the cylinder bores and pistons.

Why ask?
 
one...you dont port n polish the heads with them still on the car
if this did happens, then its a really big oopz!! something you definately did not want to hear.
solution...either take the heads off and take them to a machine shop and let them port n polish them right. change oil. flush motor, clean out carbs or fuel injection system completley all the way to the tank.
or buy a new motor and still flush out the fuel lines to the tank.
flushing out with water will not help..but if you went that far...why not..cant hurt it anyworse.. after it wont work, you still have to rebuild or replace and flush lines..
what would happen if you added dishwashing liquid down the intake and started the car...how far will the dishwashing liquid go to? it wont clean the inside of the motor either..haha...
next time when working on a car, take the parts off the motor n work on it, xpecially major parts
best suggestion ...let someone steal it...burn it and let insurance pay for the car. just dont get caught...towing it to a rough neighborhood helps.
 
lol ur car is done. end of story ul need to replace abolutly everything. that was supper dumb. in my oppinion i think u made this all up but whatever either way ur an idiot
 
get some mystery oil for $2.49 at auto zone start the car and put it down the same intake you poured the sand with the car running floor it about three or four times.then put some more mystery in the oil itself then in the gas follow the directions on the botlle. after you have run the car for about an hour change the oil and put 2 quarts of mystery oil and 3 quarts full syntectic oil and a good filter.
 
WOW haha your screwed lol ok so you know what an air filter is? its to stop solids from getting in to the engine cause it will damage the interior of the ENGINE omg that has to be the worse thing i have ever read lol so basicly you damaged the entier engine and the thing is pretty much totaled. i cant even beleive you would do that, like serioulsy?? there is no advice i can give you except buy a new car for your boyfriend cause he is going to need one.
