when i go to the doctor do i tell them im here to get check for stds or what.?

am i taking a pap smear, urine test, blood test
or what kind?
so a pap smear can let me know if i have stds.?
its not just for cancer.?

if i take the pap smear when do you think ill kno if its positive or negative?
