i survived hurricane katrina

He more than likely has no internet access, and knowing Jung he's probably occupied helping out. I'm sure he'll pop in eventually, but it may be some time.

Hey guys, I'm in Baton Rouge with family... and safe! We're just now getting power and internet back up, so I figured I'd pop in and give you guys an update. I can't talk long, we're going to do our FEMA stuff this morning... I've seen the general area where we live (Lakefront in anyone is interested) and... there isn't much left. (80% on NOLA is still under up to 12 feet of water) It'll probably be quite a while before I'm back on here, so good luck to everyone who had family or friends in or near New Orleans. This sucks, but everyone will pull through. :)

Thanks to everyone who inquired, you've brightened my day already. :)

good to see you safe junglizm.. and i think BR will be a little crowded.. my wife's law firm is based in NO and they have lost the HQ, so initially they said everyone take a month at Birmingham, Nashville etc.. rent a house and work at those offices, yesterday they said we have a 6 month lease on 45,000 sq ft of office in Baton Rouge.. everyone report as soon as we get power..
memphis is another big place of influx, 10,000 refugees, just the stuff they have in the car, sleeping in the car..

anyway glad you're here to talk first hand,

From what I've seen, the national news hasn't done any justice to the amount of damage. New Orleans is, for lack of a better word, destroyed... half of Plaquemine Parish is gone. The entire city is still underwater, at least 80% of it... at least the water has stopped rising. New Orleans will never be the same, and honestly, I don't know if I want to even move back. As much as 20ft of water in some places, 8-10ft in most of the city.

No, the storm is not still going on... most of the damage NOLA has sustained has been from the insane flooding.
