holy shit, im one of those idiots who stayed behind when everyone left town, but the hurricane didnt exactly hit my town worth a damn, but i did get to see a tree fall down in my back yard and go in my swimming pool.my town was 130 miles from the eye but we did have 50 mph winds. oh well at least i didnt lose power. sucks for new orleans tho... i had family there and i havent been able to contact them and see if they made it out alive. communication is rather scarce down here no phone and cell phone towers fell down. damn place is like 10 foot under water.

yeah, we had about 60 mph gusts, but nothing else worth a damn. When our power went out a couple of days ago, I went exploring for the cause. Found it, tree hit powerpole, powerpole hit powerline across the street, pwerline hit a small dog.....the dog died.

i live in missouri, which is kinda above louisiana, new orleans, all those states that got hit. it's affecting the weather in missouri in some way. yesterday it was about 60 degrees &the wind was blowing rather hard. the weather that we've been having for awhile is supposed to be in the 80-90's. it's fucking scary ;/

Glad to hear you came out with your health and lives. I am sorry for any loss of personal property you suffered. We have a few members here from the area hit by the storm, including one of our mods. Feel free to share your stories with us, vent, or seek a sympathetic shoulder to lean on. We're here for you.

one of my friends just got married, and she and her new husband were on a honeymoon in New Orleans. They're okay, thank God, but a lot of people aren't. I'm glad you're okay. To quote our president "it's a dangerous storm"

congrats on getting safe.. where did you get too?

i heard on npr today that there might not be power in NO for 2-3 mths.. wow, i hope you all bounce back..

No shit Max, please stop spamming this thread with your child molesting garbage.

Just kidding, seriously, Im donating money as is ReiShin, and am looking for a way for anyone that wants to actually go help out with the relief effort in person to go down there through the right Humanitarian Organisation.

Yah that sucks. I have a friend that lives in Scott, LA. It's like 30 mins from New Orleans I think. He's lost his only friends, 3 guys and some of his family members are very hurt. His house is all fucked up. It really hurts to actually be friends with someone that's had it that bad with this. It really kills me knowing that I can't do anything to help either. I have my own problems and also can't afford to help. If I lived closer I would help physically as much as I could, but it's 16-17 hours away. I just hope and pray that everything will get better for him and the others involved in this. Hope you all are doing ok. :(

Well I'm glad you survived. Luckily you weren't hit full on, which is great. I hope the people who are seriously effected find new homes and lives. Nature can be a bitch.
