Hey anyone wanna have faith in a veteran of war down on his luck and about to lose everything?

Well, story goes: I am about 8000 dollars in debt and need money like yesturday. I was wondering if anyone knew any lending firms that could help me out. I've looked into things online, but they all have some kind of catch. I cannot seem to get a job in the area i live in, and im about to lose my car. I have a total of 7900 dollars worth of debt. I owe my car and two credit card companies. Can anyone help me?
 
The idea of borrowing to pay debt seems odd to me. Especially if you want to borrow from a financial institution.

If you have family that can help I'd go to them first. Sometimes you have to swallow your pride, and no, I don't mean stand on the corner with a cardboard sign. Otherwise, sell your car for $8500 (if it's worth that much), pay off your debts and use whatever is left for transportation costs, as in, public transportation or whatnot. Our society doesn't leave a lot of options open for people to get out of debt.

Bankruptcy is your last resort. Use it if you have to. Chapter 7 should protect everything you own from repossession as long as it's valued under certain amount for what it is. Cars under $5000 are safe. Your house is almost always safe too. Pets, clothes, furniture under a certain value are safe too. The only thing you lose is the ability to gain credit for something like 5-7 years. But your creditors can't sue you and you get off for about 20% of what you owe.

Calling your creditors and asking to set up payment options usually work to. They'll be happy to get less if they know you can't pay everything. It's usually only the deadbeats that can pay their bills but refuse to that they really go for.
 
When I read the title of this thread "I suck and I need some money" , I totally got the wrong idea, the title reads more of an advertisment than a rant. :rofl:
 
I thought the same thing, but I obtain the tact to keep that pun to myself. :tongue:

On a side note: our federal government couldn't give two shits about the problems of an individual citizen, at least not enough to administer a service like that. It's especially sad when one of those people is a soldier, or ex-soldier, whichever the case is. They pay our troops shit (a police officer makes more annualy and has pretty much equal benefits) and they just cut you loose when you're done. Regardless of what recruiters say, you don't really learn anything you can apply to civilian life either. Once a soldier, always a soldier, they don't account for that.
 
Well the thing is, i have disabillity claims, and nobody really wants to hire me because i got out of the marine corps for PTSD and a few other mental disorders, so im pretty well fucked. Untill the VA processes my claims... i pretty much can't do jack shit. Thanks for all the advice though.
 
Hey Kre8, I feel your pain. I too just went through a battle getting disability. Different circumstances. I have sever Osteo Arthritis in my hip. Worked all my life till I couldn't work any longer becaue of the hip. But no insurance. Figure I worked since I was 14, I should be able to get some of that SSA money I've paid in, get the hip fixed and get back to being productive. Wasn't that simple. Anyway. Just waiting for the hip. Took about a year and a couple months to get the disability. Anyway, I know what kind of a jam you are in. Try this. Bite the bullet and tell your story and ask for the money you need. Good Luck.
 
i got a great way to earn a lot of green. buy stuff at a shop, and sell it for more than u bought it for. u can earn 50-100 $$ an hour doing it. either that or carjack cars with car insurance,and break them and u'll get the money for it. i'm a very smart moneymaker. even smarter than bill gates. if u need any more solutions please ask me.
 
Make an appointment to see a representative at your local unemployment office. They have special services for veterans and it's against the law for someone to not hire you because of a disability.
 
well.. ive been in "limbo" for unemployment for quite some time....
then i got a job... and that fucked things up... then i got fired from that job for not doing enough overtime... and ive been unemployed ever since

i think ill just drink myself into oblivian and then become a bum
