i stopped using afrin how long will it take till i can breath again. i only been using it for thee days when i noticed every time i used it i got the most worse headach. and now i just stopped my nose is so pluged up i cant breath at all. i know this stuff can be habit forming but i dint think 3 days worth would cause my nose to plug up this tight im useing salt water spray but it does nothing for me.. what can i do to breath again. i cant sleep or eat cause i cant breath out my nose... plus im on a c pap mechine at night and i can were it cause it works through the nose.. any one that can help it would be a great help...

You could try Sudafed 12 Hour tablets, they unblock the nose without the risk of rebound congestion.

Actually, a saline spray (like Ayr) or rinse (like NeilMed) would be preferable. Either before bedtime should be very helpful. If allergies are the cause, also use an antihistamine. If it isn't allergy related, the saline should do the trick.

As he's using saline and isnt getting releif, an oral decongestant would be reasonable for a few days, but no more.

Hi Troy 77. Don't despair!
1. Take 1Tbsp organic apple cider vinegar 1st thing in the morning and once in the evening (follow with some filtered water to wash it down- it's acidic!)
2. Start consuming Extra virgin Coconut oil. 2-3 Tbsp. daily raw and start replacing ALL your cooking oils with EVCO. Any other oil heated becomes rancid-like ( heat alters the chemical structure) and leaRAB to formation of free radicals in your body. EVCO has anti-viral, anti-fungal anti-parasitic and so many other beneficial properties.
3. Eliminate grains and dairy for a while and see what happens. Usually they are on the top of the list for sinuses. ( I know it is tough in the beginning).
4. Do the pulse test ( google free download Dr. Coca's Pulse Test)
5. Find a Holistic Allergy Practitioner to facilitate Allergy clearing.
6. And as my name here is NoMed, try to stay away from that stuff (if it is safe to do so)
I personally haven't taken even an aspirin in decades!
Now you have some choices.
Blessings,
NoMed
