I stopped exercising and I lost weight...why?

I was doing cardio, 5 days a week, and i lost like a pound..lol ( and that was after 3 months of that!). I finally got fed up and just stopped and in the last 3 weeks I lost 6 lbs. Its not like I was weight training, it was cardio...I mean I'm glad, but I'm expecting the weight to come back, since it just fell off mysteriously..you think it will?
trust me I'm not capable of starving myself..lol I have a hard time turning down whatever i want to eat..luckily i guess my metabolism isnt pretty good naturally that way
i meant IS pretty good, not isn't
 
I think the exercises you did already raised the metabolism of your body to burn fats, or you are eating regularly 3 meals with snacks so you get enough energy to make your body increases its metabolism ( starving your self reduces your metabolism so your body wont be able to burn the fat)
