I did the same thing when I was a kid, within hours I had a red line going up my leg and a swollen gland in my groin. The wound itself was red, hot and very painful. I think if it were infected you'd know by now.
 
It is wise to get a tetanus shot after stepping on a nail to prevent lockjaw. I am not sure of the time frame for getting the tetanus shot.
 
thanks for posting everyone :). i think i will be okay i just overyworry at times. i will keep you guys posted. i still cant walk 100%. if i walk normally i get minimal pain so i have to walk slow and i put more pressure on the injury free foot. more comments and questions welcome.
