I spoke to a lawyer recently however am not sure if i have to pay him for the chat?

Nothing was agreed. I called the solicitor I found from the internet, he took my name and address and have probably spoken to him for about 1 hour, during 2 phone calls, on the phone plus he wrote me an email. In his email he said that I have instructed him to act for me.
Does this mean I have to pay him? I have not signed anything and I dont really want to use him as there is now no need.
 
You may be charged upto £30 for the e-mail as this counts as correspondence as there were two phone calls and not just the initial "free" consultation
