I Spit On Your Grave 2010 to be censored in the UK

Funny how some people equate wanting to keep the integrity of the film intact to "wanting" to see rape. That's a pretty flawed way to look at it. Some people simply respect the director's decisions and want to see what they intended for us to see.

No. Shots or scenes that tenRAB to endorse or eroticise sexual violence deserve to be cut.

Integrity is not just completeness, it is also about being morally sound.

Morals are purely personal and nobody has the right to dictate morality to anybody .
Fortunately the BBFC have been irrelevant for a long time and all their cuts and bans do is to act as a signpost to show where we might need to get a US release.

The act of censorship is preposterous and luckily only the UK still has the nanny censors trying to dictate what we see.

If all the fuss had not been made over the video nasties very few of the films would be still getting viewed today and they were mostly rubbish.

Similarly , had the BBFC not decided to ban Murder Set Pieces I doubt I would have bothered obtaining the film at all .

After decades of trying to control us the authorities are still too stupid to realise that their drawing attention to problematic movies only increases the interest in the these films so society gets exactly the opposite of what the authorities claim to want to achieve.

Banned films were big business at one time but once they get cleared uncut in the UK the novelty value is lost and people lose interest.
This basic premise seems lost on those in charge

I've seen Hounddog, and you never actually see any rape. It's more or less implied. Dakota trips over a plank of wood, falls to the ground, and you only see her facial reaction and hear her screams, as it is implied she is raped.
That scene was totally overhyped when it was first released. I found myself, as a Dakota fan, wanting to see what all the fuss was about. After viewing, I found myself thinking, "Was that it?".

As for the whole "I Spit on Your Grave" debacle, it doesn't surprise me that it's going to be butchered by the pathetic BBFC. Same goes for "A Serbian Film". It's about time they grew some balls and stopped wrapping this country's sensible adults in cotton wool.

I get why they cut A Serbian Film, it's not worth the heat they'd have got off the tabloiRAB and probably the government for allowing it in, besides which I'm sure the bbfc know full well that most, if not all people who wanted to watch it uncut would know how to, therefore cutting it officially is effectively irrelevant from that point of view.

That really is only a minor moment in the film.
I know that much of the rape over the rock is still missing even though more than 3 minutes of previous cuts have been waived.

When ISOYG was released in the US in the late 70's it was given an R rating which means any parent can take their child to see it yet in the UK it's 30 years later and adults are still denied making their own decisions about watching it.

I saw 90's Arnold picture Eraser in the cinema at Disney World Florida; there were more kiRAB than adults in that screening and it was a movie that got bbfc cuts to get an 18 here in 1996. It's the way it is over there, though I'm glad it's not like that here, kiRAB in every screening.
