...address. Is that legal? I wanted to send the Mayor an article out of a Natural News publication and thought it would be easier just to subscibe him since he could just cancel it if he didn't want it. The newsletter I subscribed him for is free. But then I about had a heart attack fearing that it might be illegal to have done that. Is it?
 
Since the publication is a "freebie", it is not illegal. However, it may be an irritant for him to get something he didn't subscribe to. Someone had done that to me with the "Dallas Morning News". I don't live in Dallas, don't know anyone in Dallas, have no interest in what is happening in Dallas and it has taken me 8 months to get it stopped from appearing on my computer. You should have called him, tell him about the article and state that you would like to give him a free subscription if he would want it. Moral: if you don't know the legality of something, don't do it until you find out.

If they come for you, perhaps it is. Can't imagine it, though. You can send anyone a gift subscription for a magazine. For email newsletters, there is usually a verification email sent to the recipient. If they didn't order it, or don't want it, they just ignore the email and the subscription never happens.
