I sent a certified letter to a business saying I was putting a stop payment on a

check, can they still cash it? I had a verbal agreement with the business and they are denying it now and processed my membership agreement early. The are now refusing to give me the paperwork they signed saying they would hold my check and membership until October 3rd. I sent them a certified letter stating I was putting a stop payment on the check. What happens if they try to cash it now?

The bank will cash it unless you place a stop payment on it through the bank itself. There is usually a fee for this service.
