I really want to right a poem. But don't know where to start.?

I love songs and poems and rhythm. But I don't know how to write peoms or where to start. Can someone help. But I can write songs. I love writing songs. I'm fine at that it's just the poems!!
Can you maybe give me a few ideas or maybe write a few lines for me.

All I can really say is relate it to your life, those are always the best poems. You can always shorten your songs to create a poem such as using the chorus. I hope I helped! I would love to finally be a best answer.
