...kenwood car cd player.? the speakers will only beat continuously whenever the amp is hooked up and I know it was because of a bad ground cable I installed and the amp tried to ground off the rca cables and fried something in the cd player itsself. I really would love to know how to fix it myself so I dont have to pay all the money to get someone else to.

Unless you have an in-depth knowledge of electronics, you'd be best off having it repaired. Especially if the pre-amp stage of the circuitry (transistors) is fried.

MOSFET transistors need to be handled with care as they are static sensitive and can be destroyed by static charge just by handling. Handling these requires a static strap.

Some boards utilize surface mount technologies and this make them even more difficult to work on.

This also requires good knowledge of soldering, a technique that takes some time to learn to do properly using heat sinking and avoiding burning the board or shorting out leads on components with solder.

Double sided PC boards are the most difficult to work on and is most likely what you have.

It's people like Marvin A that will try to fix it and then brings pieces of something and expects it to be fixed.

Feeling stupid Marvin?

you would have to buy some tools but this is a diy job.
the problem with electronic technicians is that they think everyone else is stupid.
Most of them that I have met are really not that knowledgeable,,but have good memories to retain proceedures.
