Ok so i just graduated H.S Class of '09. I had pretty good grades except my junior year because my mom was in and out of hospital because she has pnemonia and was on the verge of losing her. being the teenager that i was 15 yrs old to be exact (i have a late bday) i messed up in school but other than that i had good grades. I graduated with a 3.5. I was very close to being in the top 10 graduates. Any whom I am enrolled in community college now, and i am wondering what can i do to get money to pay my books? I dont understand why i didnt get financial aid, my moms mentally ill and is always in and out of the hospital and my dad makes minimum wage being the only income that comes in our household. We live in an apartment because we could never afford a house. & we dont have nice cars, theyre always breaking down and stuff. And please dont tell me to "get a job" TRUST ME I HAVE TRIED MY HARDEST! I have applied everywhere i can and noone has ever called me back, and being 17 in college i have no work experience whatso ever except 2 volunteer things i did over the summer because one of my teachers told me to do them so i could put them as work experiences on my resume and applications. Its comming to the point where its driving me nutts. I hate being my life i literally do i have been made fun of all of my life for being poor i have never had anything like everyone else. i didnt even go to prom because i couldnt afford a ticket or barley a dress.& the only reason i have a computer is because i won it in a writting contest that my english teacher told me to go into. & the only reason i have internet is because my sister give my mom the 20 bucks for it every month because she is always saying she wants me to be someone unlike them. I am not lazy, im a honestly saying i have tried to get a job everywhere because i knew i was gonna need it for books this year when i went to college now that i went to my first couple of classes the book bill is pilling up and i need to no what you gusy think i should do? Or how can i gain more better work experience besides volunterring so then i can get hired somewhere. Or maybe a loan is how i have to get it done? But im only 17. Pleasse give me suggestions on what i can do. And if it helps i live in California. Thank you so much.
