You can not fit it yourself you need to get it done at an approved garage and have the certificates to prove which you have to keep and provide when asked by insurance companies and the police.
To be honest as it is a good idea to gain experience but it will make your insurance twitchy as it is easily taken off but then your insurance will be void!! With that it may push your premiums higher due to the risk!!
