i really dont want anything to do with my childs father what can i do legaly?

Im currently 9 months pregnant the father of my child and i are not together. He is 13 yrs older than me and already has a son who he dosent do much for. He does what he's obligated to do, taking him to and from school and thats it rarely spending time with him. I left him and havent really talked to him the whole 9 months. I've been pretty much on my own. Now that the baby is almost here hes extremely upset that i want to give her my last name and that i dont want anything to do with him. I honestly feel that because i left him the only reason he wants to be around is to cause me grief. I dont want my child to be without her father but i can do without the drama and if his only intention is to keep up trouble i want to make sure that i protect myself from him.
