I put a Confederate Flag on my car on 9-15-09, and this morning my tires were

slashed, window smashed? I woke up ready to go to work at 8am, and every single one of my windows were smashed, all my tires were slashed, and my water and oil are mix in, if that isn't bad enough, all my seats were knifed, the foam just everywhere, my antenna and wipers have been broken off and the thing is totaled. There is eggs and paint all over my car as well.
There was a note inside, that said get out of our town you redneck conserative nazi trash
I called out of work today and tomorrow.
The car isn't worth much, maybe $1500
I did not contact the police, but should i? I recently moved from west texas to northern california, and i am afraid if this gets to the press, i just dont want any public publicity.
Can this person, if i report it, will they dust for prints? Will they catch him?
Is this a hate crime?
