I own a 2001 VW Jetta and my cigarette/power outlet does not work Can you

help me fix it? I used to keep change in the ash tray next to the outlet and believe a penny may have fallen in at some point. I am wanting to have my car charger now in my car along with a GPS system is there an easy way to fix it? Is it just a short in the fuse? I am moving in a few days and would really like to have this working.... any suggestions would be helpful!
 
Check the fuse. Look in your car manual to find the fuse box. The manual should also tell you which fuse to change.
