headlights(only) to dim and brighten? A month ago a new 'headlight dimmer switch' was replaced because I was suddenly left in the dark, one night.
New earth wiring from the back of the globes have been replaced..new Phillips 60/55 watt halogen globes. It has a new battery.... the brushes have been replaced in the voltage regulator and all the wiring checked for splits or any other faults.
Yet, on a long journey last week, I was caught out again when my lights dimmed to candlelight strength only. I have been pulling over and switching the car off and leaving it for about half an hour then resuming my journey. Makes a long trip, just that bit longer....not good when travelling on busy highways at night.They are bright and suddenly they will dim and flicker, like before my light dimmer switch went. Any suggestions from any-one who has had similar problems ? Or just a good auto electrician ?
Before my light dimmer went, everyone commented on how good my lights were. I want to put driving lights on my car but not until this problem is resolved.
