...newer, is it possible? I would like to upgrade the interior more than anything. Is it possible? I would also like to do an over haul on the engine, what do you recommend. Would it be better to buy a over haul kit? what kind?

Don't waste money on any engine parts till you've dissembled the one you have. Measure every bore-size, piston ring end gaps, valve guide clearance, crankshaft, inspect bearings for unusual wear, camshaft lobes, lifters, push-rods, valve springs and rocker arms. Unless you have designated measuring instruments and a complete knowledge around a small block Chevrolet an overhaul kit is worthless. Lean toward a complete - new #12499529 motor from your Chevrolet dealer -or field strip yours and have it professionally done an an engine shop.

Interiors aren't my game.
