Anyways, about the self-learning thing RB, I ahve learned more on my own than at college, but that self learning does not get you a diploma, and it does not get you a better job. that is why I am in school, not because i need to be directed, but because I want to make more money.

And Un, why have you been down oon yourself so much lately? you seem a little sad. i dont think you are stupid. you are smarter than 2/3 of the bitches on here, which is not saying much, lol, just kidding. Cheer up dude, this is the only life you get.

I hear that! The real learning comes in the workplace. How many new guys have we hired that walk in and think they're gods gift to Frame-Relay. Then you send the mto a customer's site and My night at home is spent either on the phone with them or dialed into the customer's router, doing his/her job.

We now outsourc e our internal support....so, when I need an adjustment and I have to call it in, I get a guy who speaks english, but doesnt really get what I say, so I have to speak slowly and can not use industry specific lingo. It is annoying, but they do a good job.

I was talking to my manager yesterday, I asked him if he can think of ONE way in which I would use advanced algebra in our job. he couldnt, so I think this is bullshit. fuck it. You know what really irks me, is that I can do really good at statistist, I took college level statistics a couple years back. But since I scored low on my entrance exam in math, I have to take math. What really fucks me up is imaginary numbers. Like imaginary i. what fucking asshole came up with that. does it even HAVE a purpose? No because it is fucking imaginary. Kiss my fat fucking white ass quadratic equations.
 
math was never my strong point... i did alright in it from grades 1-7... but once i got into high school, i was in the low 60's... failed math 12... stupidest choice ever was math 12
 
bleh...ap calc....try differential equations....or linear algebra...
actually they arent that hard....matreces is kinda long...and redundant....from what i hear ...two more math classes ill get the math minor...yay!!
 
english is the only subject i almost failed back in school...never did though
math is pretty an 'A' class for me

and i thought i was smart too, so i took the ACT and got a 19 on it...i was like wtf?!
turns out my english scores were too low but math and science was above average

so i took it again, and this time i studied for it...i got an 18....wtf?!
same thing math and science score high, english got lower '-_-

so i started college back in january and they stuck me in the highest math they could start me off in, and english i didn't get stuck into a low class..i started right where most people do...and i got straight A's in it..but that started to drop to a B...oh well
english isn't my thing, i'm not creative in my words, but very in my math skills and architectural drawing, or drafting skills

i'd rather pick drawing and designing a house full scale everything than describing one with words......(and yes in highschool i did design a two story house...teachers thought architecture was my thing...but i may become an electrical engineer...we'll see)
 
I have never taken any of the tests, because I believe that these tests are not an adequate source of personal learning ability, and therefore I refuse to take them. I refused them throughout high school also. I am a 3.5 to 4.0 student (anatomy and statistics fucked up my gpa, bastards) So, if I took the test, I am sure I would be at least average, however, they go against my ideal learning environment, so on principle, i refuse to take them.
 
that's what i've always thought to

why should i go take some test...oh because colleges require a certain score on it i guess..but hey i scored low and i'm still smart in math in college..all A's so far
it's english that has screwed my learning over..
