I never see repair questions about harley davidson on here?

Is this becuase HD riders are too embarrasesd to admit their bike has problems and becuase of all the class and rep that comes with HD's?
 
There are two types of HD riders. My dad has an Ultra Classic and enough money to let the dealership deal with it when something goes wrong (nothing has yet except for hitting a piece of rebar at 70mph and having it rip into his tranny). Then there is me. I built my own custom chopper (out of aftermarket HD parts) and I pretty much do my own work on it (haven't had to do anything yet except change the oil). So, aside from the fact that neither one of ourembarrassingg American bikes that always leak and break down (note the sarcasm) have ever neededmaintenancee, we are smart enough not to take answers about repairs from 13 year olds on the internet. I'm tired of seeing, "buy a gixxer as your first bike!!!!111"
 
Allot of HD riders have the money to take their bike to the shop.
So there is no need to ask for help. Next the guys that do there own work would ask someone who also dose their own work. If they need help. I lot of non HD riders think that HDs stay broke down YES they are high maint but if you keep up on your maint you won't have too many problems. These are not the same bikes of the 60 70 and 80 where they are rigded mount and need to be torked every time you ride. I take good care of all 3 of my HDs and out side of normal wear I dont a have a need to do to many repairs.
 
I would literally (not joking) guess that about 80% of Harley riders on the road today are not bike builders, mechanics, or even have any urge to work on their own bikes. They're riding for the status they think they get out of riding the biggest, loudest, most dressed out bike they can afford... when something breaks, they trade it in or sell it and give up as the newness has worn off...

BTW - HD isn't Harley Davidson anymore... It's Hound Dog. Because the leak where they're not supposed to and like to ride in the back of trucks.
 
I'm not taking up for Harley or anything, I do not own one. I have owned them in the past and they are very dependable bikes, at least the later models. Most Harley owners are a bit older and use much better resources than YA, like hdforums, etc. Let's face the truth here. YA is comprised of a few knowledgeable people and a few thousand that have no clue what they are talking about. There are many young folks here that have no clue what they are talking about. It is evident in the responses to almost every question. The fact that you would would even ask a ridiculous question like this proves my point. I have owned and raced metric bikes my entire life and still do, but even I don't take biased stabs at a brand I obviously know nothing about.
 
It's because they don't have to rely on bad answers made by people who don't care or know what they are talking about.
 
There are basically two types of harley rider, those who take their bike to a dealer or shop for repairs, and those who make their own repairs. the first group rarely if ever do their own work, the second group know how their machines are put together and prefer to wrench their own bikes. they will go directly to the mechanic if they have a problem.

Also, I have noticed fewer and fewer harley questions on this forum over the last year. I suspect this is due to all the animosity they receive on answers from sport bike owners.

Don't let all the hype on this place fool you, modern harleys are as dependable as any other brand out there.
Judging from the amount of questions about problems, possibly more dependable.
