I Never Knew That...........(Thread)

Roald Dahl wrote the screenplays of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and You Only Live Twice, two Ian Fleming book adaptations. Though neither film follows Fleming's book remotely!

They really wanted Dick Van Dyke and Julie Andrews to reprise their pairing from Mary Poppins in the Chitty film but Julie couldn't do it in the end. Other fun facts are that Benny Hill is in the film as the toymaker, they used over 100 dogs for one of the musical sequences. Robert Helpmann, who played the Childcatcher, was a hugely respected dancer and artistic director. Also, everyone thinks it's a Disney movie when it's not! Just the same people wrote the songs.

Anne hathaway was originally meant to do the phantom of the opera but dropped out as she was contracted to do the second Princess movie

Anne hathaway was originally meant to do Knocked up but dropped out due to creative differences over the birth scene

Anne hathaway was originally written for the role of Blackcat in Spiderman 4 but the script was rewritten as they felt Hathaway was too expensive to pay for the role.

For some reason, Anne hathaway has chosen not to take on the role of Red riding hood in the Hoodwinked sequel.

That emma thompson writes the nanny mcphee movies

I couldn't have imagined her in any of those roles apart from The Accused. Also, Davis isn't sexy enough to do role that made Sharon Stone famous.

Nicole Kidman had filmed scenes for The Panic Room but she injured herself doing another movie so Jodie Foster took over the role when Kidman dropped out resulting to scenes being re filmed.

Although Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor seemed to have chemistry on screen.Off screen they were not frienRAB.Gene Wilder claimed that Richard Pryor's cocaine addiction made him unpleasant to be around.

Christopher Reeve was pleasant to some co-workers and absolutely horrible to others.

For example, he was pleasant to Richard Pryor but not nice to Jack O'Halloran (who played "Non" in the first two films)

In fact, they almost came to blows during Superman II.

Chelsea Fox out of EE is in Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire, she says something to Harry at the end.

There are loaRAB for Enchanted, like the receptionist at Patrick Dempseys Law Firm is Jodi Benson, who was the voice of Ariel. And I think you can hear part of your world or something playing as reception music!

Also, the giant troll in the animated bit at the beginning, his loin cloth is made of dresses that belonged to past disney princesses. Not sure if that is a little bit disturbing or not :)

Laurence Olivier hated working with Marilyn monroe on The prince and the show girl. Marilyn had signed a new deal where she could overlook the cast and the director. Olivier chose to do the movie regardess of his feeling towarRAB Monroe because at end of the day it was the money he was looking forward to and knew the movie would be a success if name Monroe appeared in any movie.

I watched this movie a few weeks ago and I was thinking "I'm sure Ben Stiller wasn't in this the last time I watched it" :D

I found this on a movie trivia website....

When the Mother-Ship passes over the Devil's Tower near the end of Spielberg's movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind,
R2-D2 can be seen hanging from the bottom of the ship.

I might have to rent the DVD just to see if it is true!

Elvis Presley was in the frame for the John Voight part in Midnight Cowboy but his manager Tom Parker turned it down thinking the Film wasn't right for "the boy".
