I Never Knew That...........(Thread)

Hannah Murray who played Cassie in the first&second series of Skins (e4/channel 4) had a tiny part in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (she is on the cart going up to hogwarts with Ron, Harry and Hermione) :)

You've reminded me of some real life trivia. Many years ago a friend of my cousin lived in Twickenham next to Jill Ireland's parent's house although I'm not sure they knew that at the time.

They were looking out of an upstairs window one day and in next doors garden was Charles Bronson sitting in a deck chair. :)

It's always tickled me. It's the last thing you expect to see.

Slightly off topic but after i've watched a film or tv program I often goto IMDB (or wikipedia or even the official website) to look up details. I look up to see where i've seen that actor before etc. and the Trivia section usually has some interesting info.

What a great thread I have one:

All 3 of the main stars in Rebel Without A Cause died in tragic circumstances. James Dean died in a car crash aged just 24 in 1955, Natalie Wood Drowned age 43 in 1981 and Sal Mineo was stabbed to death age 37 in 1976.

In SW E1 TPM, in the senate chamber scenes one of the senate balconies is filled with ETs.

George Lucas held the film rights to the book 'Heart of Darkness' which was used as a basis for the film Apocolypse Now. His friend John Milius wrote the screen play for AN and after he passed up the chance to direct the film, GL was lined up. He however got the green light to direct another film at that time, namely SW. Copolla finished The Godfather Part 2 and took over the directing job. The original cast was Marlon Brando, Steve McQueen and Gene Hackman. Al Pacino, Robert Redford & Jack Nicholson were all approached before the final cast was set.

The film, The Conqueror was financed by Howard Hughes who was so embarressed about how bad it was he spent $12million buying every copy and refused to let it be shown anywhere. It finally got a release in 1974.

However the real tragedy is that the film was shot on a nuclear test ground and the main stars, John Wayne, Susan Hayward, Agnes Moorhead, and John Hoyt plus Dick Powell, the director, all died from Cancer. Pedro Armendariz, who also starred in the film commited suicide after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Hughes in fact paid for the soil from the test area to be imported into Holywood for all the retakes.

Intrigued, I google-imaged this and yes, an odd similarity. Fancy that.

In the Marx Bros. film Monkey Business, Groucho tells Thelma Todd: "You're a woman who's been getting nothing but dirty breaks. Well, we can clean and tighten your brakes, but you'll have to stay in the garage all night."

Five years later Todd was found dead in a garage. It was caused by carbon monoxide poisoning after spending the night in there.

The film "Pretty Woman" was originally entitled "$3000". The Producers decided to change the name of it to take the focus off the fact that the film is ultimately about a money grabbing whore.

The little girl on the tricycle at the start of Stephen Kings' IT grew up 2 be the blonde chick in final destination 3 who gets fried in the sunbed, also just found out that the kid who plays Bill in IT committed suicide a few years ago,sad he played a great part.

According to a famous movie armourer, the only "Western" actors who never blinked while firing a gun in their films were Clint Eastwood and Yul Brynner

Ooh, I've got one about Pretty Woman.

When he offers Julia Roberts the necklace and then closes the case on her hand she had not been told that he was going to do it.
They copied the idea from a scene from Roman Holiday between Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn.

In Notting Hill when the character Bernie asks Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) how much she was paid for her last movie (not realising who she is), she replies "$15 million" - which is the amount Julia Roberts was paid to star in Notting Hill.

In a scene from As Good as it gets Melvyn is walking the dog and it appears that the dog is stepping over the gaps in the paving stones (the same as Melvyn does). It was infact a concrete surface and the gaps were CGI'd in later.

I watched that last week on Channel 4 and thought that scene was really cute how the dog copied him.

Thank you for ruining it! I now know it's fake, I have lost all faith... How could you?! :p

In Patriot Games Edward Fox refers to Harrison Ford's character as 'Sir' - However the honorific 'Sir' would not be used when referring to an American and a member of the Royal Family would know that.

The mistake also appears in the book but in that instance it was Charles making the mistake and he almost certainly does know.
