I need your help guys on how to handle Suzuki

If possible I need advice and who and how to contact Suzuki.

I met my fiance in 06. She rode a cruiser, I rode a gixxer. We fell in love...so then get got a left over 06 gixxer 750. Yep romantic.

I have to do what I am going to try and do behind the scenes.

She didn't get the extended warranty to save money. About 2 months out of warranty something happened to her engine. A serious knock. It's unridable.

We took it to the dealer and the service's managers first thought was that she ran it too low on oil.

I am told she contacted Suzuki and was told to take it to an authorized dealer.

The dealer had it for 4 months saying they couldn't get to it due to sicknesses and tech personel problems. Then was told that to pull the oil pan they would have to remove the engine which would be a few hours labor.

I'm told she contacted Suzuki and Suzuki brought up that it was out of warranty but would do something if it was a recent out of warranty. I was told she mentioned that the dealer had it for 4 months and reported the dealer. I was told that Suzuki told her if the authorized dealer works on it, maybe they would pay half of the parts.

Here's the rip. To repair the engine and parts the estimate I heard from the service manager would be $3,000. Guys she can't afford that. Honestly with today's economy it would be a stretch for me too.

It's sitting here at the house with her telling me this and that..and this person and that person will do this. But nothing is getting done. With the warmer weather approaching it's going to be killing her to just be riding backseat.

Her bike has only 5,500 miles on it. Best I hear is someone saying they can get an engine they know is good for 1,800 bucks. I've heard of another that is only 900. I've heard labor times of 6 to 13 hours.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Jammer - that stinks. I would contact American Suzuki at: (got this off the website)

You can contact the Corp office at 714 572-1490. Agents are available Monday – Friday 8:30 – 4:45 pst. You can also write to us at 3251 E Imperial Hwy Brea, CA 92621 Please make sure you have your vehicle ID number available.

Plead your case in a nice manner and see if they can help. Although your finace does not want to pay the full price for the repairs, she probably owes more on the bike than it's worth (due to the blown engine). Worst case scenario is that maybe they would let you pay off the repairs over several months.

Hopefully American Suzuki can help you out. Before you call, I would make sure you have the dates (and names) that everybody was contacted so that American Suzuki can verify the info.
