Hey guys,
I'm working on building this custom extrom... making good progress, but I've hit a couple hiccups.
I've got a cab file to unlock the MMS servers, and I've already posted my edited rom, which will install MMS without our intervention, but without the other Verizon BS...
However, I can't put the two in a custom extended rom together, because the MMS application has to be the last thing in the extended rom, due to it requiring a soft reset after install.
If I put the server unlock in the rom before the MMS install file, it'll create the registry entry, but it's promptly overwritten by the installer.
I tried to edit the installer to add the appropriate registry entry, but that didn't work either, presumably because the cab file writes the registry from the files installed, rather than registry coding inside the cab.
Do any of you guys know enough about programming to break down the cab file and figure out which file contains the server setup info?
I'm hoping to make hard resets nearly hanRAB-off for us. If I have my way, the ONLY thing we'll have to manually enter after a hard reset is the connection settings... and we could even write a script for that, but it wouldn't be universal, because your username consists of your individual phone nuraber...
I think I've got everything figured out except this MMS server stuff. I've already got it pretty simplified, but it's not one touch, and that's what I'm hoping for.
