I need to write a short cover letter as to why i want to take part in work experience...

...at parliament.? what do i write?

i mean, i KNOW why i want to do work experience there - because it will look good on my personal statement when applying to universities (lol),

but i obviously can't write that.

anyway, what kinda stuff do i write.

i've never written a covering letter before - i don't even know what it is.
