i have mild iesc desiccation wit slight disc spacenarrowing is present minor generalized annular bulge on the right. there is a fluid signal intensitycollection which measures approximately 5x13mm un size withconsistent with a synovial syst allociated either with right l3-l4 or l4-l5 facet joint
L5 S1 mild degenerative disc desiccation. Generalized annular disc bulge. a focal hypo T1 hyper T2 signal area is present in the right lateral. this is a more hyperintense focusthan the normal disc herniation. nonethe less findings are consistent with a right lateral recess disc herniation with right S1 nerne root impingement .
conclusion
enidence on minor L4-L5 degenerative disc disease is described above.posterior paravertebral cyst probably facet synovial cyst.
L5-S1 degenerative disc disease with small systec appearing right lateral recess disc herniation with right theral sac and S1 nerve root inpingement . the anterior to posterior extent is approximately 6.5 mm
I need to no how bad im hurt i work at a ship yard and lift heavy objects

Hi there Didn't your physician who ordered the MRI discuss the findings with you? Was this ordered by your PCP or a neuruo doc or ortho doc? While I am no expert in reading or interpreting MRI's the fidings you reported on tells you that you have a disc herniation with a nerve root impingement. That means nerve damage and you should make an appointment sooner rather than later with nerve damage.` If it were me I would call now. Don't let nerve damage go . The sooner you address this problem the better off you will be.

Let us know how you are doing. I hope this helps you somewhat. . Jane invertebrate

Ronny,

Did you hurt yourself at work? If so, get thyself a WC attorney ASAP to help you navigate the system. Even if you didn't have a specific event that caused injury, sometimes they can argue that your job has caused you injury over time, so it still would make sense to have a consultation with a WC attorney.

Based on your MRI, there are findings that show you have damage to a couple of your discs that is pressing on your nerves. I'm assuming your pain caused you to get the MRI, and the findings of the MRI likely are the cause of your pain.

As far as how bad it is, that can be somewhat subjective. Pain is caused when you have a nerve that is being pinched. For some people a small disc herniation can cause a nerve to be pinched, while for others who may have a wider spinal canal, it may take a much larger disc herniation to pinch the nerve.

You need to be seen by a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon or neurosurgeon. Continuing to lift heavy objects could do further damage to your spine or potentially cause permanent damage.

Best wishes!
