I need to know what is wrong with my MOM

Hi,

On Christmas morning my Mother was not feeling all too well, she said she was nauseated (but not throwing up) and she had horrible indigestion. We thought it was from the Chocolate Chip Pancakes she got at IHOP, either we thought she got food poisoning or just horrible indigestion from all the chocolate.

Well it is 3 days later and she still has these symptoms and more. She now has diarrhea which she had for the last couple of days, she is very fatigued, she felt a little dizzy a couple of days, she feels full after only a couple of bites of food, she is only eating small amounts of very bland foods, like toast, eggs, muffins. She is having headaches and she woke up this morning with leg cramps.

Once in a while if we over do it and do alot her body shuts down for a couple of days, well it sounds like we over did it because we were go, go, going because we were on vacation. But she is having all of these symptoms too.

Is there someone that can give me any ideas as to what is going on with her. I don't think she has the flu. I have seen her with the flu and this isn't it.

I am scared because she is having all of these other symptoms.

Thanks if anyone can give me any ideas or opinions.

She has many of the classic signs of gall bladder disease. She must see a doctor. If left untreated, it can be very serious or even life-threatening.

Greetings:

Before Christmas my Mother was losing her appetite, and wanted to drink more water than usual. She also had the runs. She told me she just didn't feel right. I had a physician's assistant visit her at home and all she told me was it was the progression of her disease. The following week I came home from lunch and found her very lethargic and passing blood in her urine. She was dehydrated and hd an infection. I would definately get her to a doctor for a blood and urine test.

Keep us posted.

I would definitely get her to the doctor at this point.. even if it's just viral (which is usually what food poisoning is.. just needs several days to go through you) it sounds like she's becoming very dehydrated. Dehydration would explain the headaches and leg cramps as well as the fatigue and dizziness, but do get the gall bladder ruled out. Although when my friend recently had gall bladder disease his problem was he would throw-up everything he ate, it wouldn't go far enough through him to come out the other end. He had to have his removed.
