My english teacher wants us to do a 10 page paper on a piece of literature that was written by a person that we shares the same culture with. I choose to do either African American women or Caribbean women writers because even though I was born in American, my parent are from Jamaica. It is hard to find the write writer that interest me because most African American women that I looked up talk about slavery, racism, and stuff like that and i am not interested in that. I would read about drug abuse, sexism, or even a love story. Does anyone have any ideas of who to write about or author you think might interest me? I would take any suggestions.
