they are. Can someone help me out? I have a strong feeling this person may be making up a story to try and get money. I am definitely not sending any. I just want to confront them about it but don't know if they are being sincere or not. If you can help in any way besides telling me how dumb I might be thanks.

Your in a tricky situation, trust me I know. I live in the philippines and over here scam relationships to foreigners is very common. While its maybe only 5% of the gals who say they are looking are scammers the scammers are running multiple scams and are available all the time vs those who work only available sort times and are real.

My suggestion is find out all you can about her from asking and do some research on her home area and other things. If a gal is pressing you for money online or suggesting you help her by saying sob stories usually she's a fake. Most good women would not even suggest such a thing and feel very ashamed. Many even consider being offered offensive. Research on what you can, does she work? What time her time is she on? Does it conflict with what should be work/school hours? If she doesn't work where does she get her money from? What country/city is she from? Local in your country or a different country? If she lives in another country does she list a big major city there or a small rural town? Big city is likelier for more scammers n all.

um next time you chat with them ask if they have a web cam, if they say no, chances are they maybe lieing, everyone now a days has one, which means they could verry well be trying to hide something, if you know where they live, or what city (at least which ever one they gave you) along with they name you could try doind a google search on them, or looking them up in the yellow pages online to see if that person really exists or not (you dont have to call them) other then that if someone is asking you for money its pretty much a scam... they shold know people around them in real life to get some help with money
