I need to find a really great restaurant in Manhattan to celebrate my sister's 30th

birthday!? I'm planning a girls night out in NYC for my sister's 30th birthday and I need to find a memorable and unique restaurant. Serendipity seems nice but I'm not sure it's special enough for a birthday. Our budget is no more than $50/person otherwise we would be dining at Per Se (which sounds amazing in every way). The cuisine type is pretty open. We love pretty much everything, not sure if some of the girls like Indian so let's leave that out. We are tourists so a local dive might not be a good idea, however too touristy (like Ninja) is also to cheezy. Any suggestions would be appreciated, think UNIQUE and MEMORABLE! Thanks!
 
Without a doubt, plan your sisters birthday at Locanda Verde! It is the most fabulous Italian restaurant I have eaten at - the first authentic tasting Italian since being back from Europe! They have a wonderful wine selection and each course (we got apps, entrees, AND dessert) were outstanding!
If you go I highly recommend getting the brusselsprout appetizer! Have fun!
