I'm making a trifle for desert but I need a main. Something not too hard but looks impressive and maybe something summery. Something with a salad maybe?
How about a casserole based on pasta or spaghetti and tomato sauce, with parmesan and mozzarella cheese melting on top? You could add chopped black olives to the sauce.
A hearty tossed salad with Italian dressing, and the trifle, will round out the menu nicely.
