I need to build a freestanding staircase out of cardboard?

A spiral staircase, to be exact, probably six to twelve inches tall.
Any suggestions would be muchly appreciated.

The building material does not have to be solely cardboard; it's just what I have on hand.

If this doesn't sound probable, it doesn't even have to be a spiral staircase, I think, so long as it is freestanding and whatnot.

The trick is balance.Just make sure that the top counter balances the bottom.If you do this you can design,build,and free stand your project in what ever configuration you desire Spiral,triangular,whatever.Hope this jogs your creative juices!
