I need tips on gears of war 1?

I just bought the gears of war 1 yesterday ( and to answer your question about why it took me so long it just didn't really seem interesting to me and now it is 20 bucks lol so might as well right) Anyways I just need tips on multiplayer especially with the shotgun everyone seems to use that more then anything.

How do I am with the shotgun without going into aim mode like what should I am for or at. Plus any other tips would be appreciated thank you in advance and don't give my a s s to hard on this game lol
 
Right, Two Shotguns tips

Firstly, Quick Aim, as your moving about, Pull the Left Trigger to aim and then shortly after pull the R Trigger to shoot, then let both go. It lets you aim precisely without sacrificing much movement.

Secondly, compensate for lag, Gears of War can be quite laggy, this means you need to shoot where people WILL BE, not where they are.
